Description:

The webinar will discuss the formulation of polycarbonate diol prepolymers and the increase in durability of this composition in the resistance to extreme environmental conditions such as high and low temperatures, humidity, stain and chemical aggressions. The webinar will review the technologies behind this formulation and discuss the benefits of using polycarbonate diol prepolymers, which can be used in a wide range of polyurethane-based coatings, elastomers and adhesives.

How to Register:

Benefits:

During this webinar, the instructor will present the enhanced durability provided by polycarbonate diol-based prepolymers to polyurethane coatings, elastomers and adhesive formulations, thanks to:

  • Excellent water resistance
  • Increased adhesion properties
  • Increased chemical and stain resistance
  • High thermal stability and lower yellowish
  • Improved mechanical properties
  • Scratch and abrasion resistance

Goal:

  • To provide participants with information about the formulation and benefits of polycarbonate diol prepolymers.

Length:

  • The course is a 90 minute webinar.
    • This webinar will be available for download and purchase On-Demand following the presentation date.

Outline:

  • Polycarbonate diol-based prepolymers: benefits compared to polyether diols and polyester polyols. Potential application discussion.
  • Characterization techniques and higher performance provided by polycarbonate diol-based prepolymers.
  • Durability in final polyurethanes.
  • Conclusion.

Instructor:

  • Manuel Colera, Ph.D. is the Atlantic Business Development and Marketing Manager of the Fine Chemicals Business Unit at UBE America Inc. for Americas, Europe and Middle East. Dr. Colera obtained his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from University of Valencia (Spain). After finishing this degree, his career focused on developing industrial biodegradable polymers. After joining UBE in 2008 in Europe, Dr. Colera worked in R&D for polycarbonate diols, developing an extensive variety of new applications of ETERNACOLL® polycarbonate diols in high-performance polyurethanes market, as well as other UBE products, such as electrolytes, polyamides and polyimides.
